What's the hole in your heart?

"What's your problem? What's the hole in your heart? I need the noise, the applause. You needed the grades. Why are you here at Harvard Square? Why do you have to listen to me? What have you given up to get here? Is success your drug of choice? Or are you driven by another curiosity? Your potential. Your potential of a given situation. Is missing the moment unacceptable to you? Is wasting inspiration a crime to you? It is for the musician. If this is where we find our lives rhyme, if this is our common ground, well, then, I can be inspired as well as humbled to be on this great campus because that's where I come from -- music."

This speech was made by Bono at Harvard to the students of Year 2001 - I spent quite a few moments peering into the passage while doing my English paper (there were so many people in my school who had no idea who U2 was, I found that kinda sad :P) and it was so profound. Do you know how it feels when everyone can see the problems going on in their lives but nobody ever speaks up? To a teenager - does anyone else know what happens at home? I was writing about the problems of technology in my second English paper, and you know I really think some people have faced peer pressure from buying all these gizmos and gadgets just to show that they are acceptable. This country looks pretty small from afar, but hello, these problems really do affect people. Who actually voices out?

Nobody really does. But even without a voice - we already know that there is a need out there that needs to be met. Seriously. If not later, than definitely SOONER.

To a basketball player - Does he play for the team? Does he play against his opponents, or is he playing against himself?

To a singer, as Bono had phrased - "When you need 20,000 people screaming your name in order to feel good about your day, you know you're a singer."

&... to God,

As Dr. A.R. Bernard would so eloquently put it, "You are His poem. The expression of His glory. He has gifted you uniquely, wired you and designed you to present you as His creation to be appreciated by the world." - CHC Harvest Times

"Each time we nurture something into its fullest potential, we reveal a little of that divine creativity implanted in us and thus bring glory to Him." - Rev. Kong Hee

There is a God who is going to save the day, because His word really never fails and He is going to make a way! for my situations, circumstances, and for my friends. YES! my friends!

We don't know what to do - but our eyes are on You.

omgah!

:O

I found this on Pinke, oh man my wonderful art piece has been revealed on the world wide web now. Ok folks, go there and tell your friends you know a renowed Malaysian artist aight ;) kthanks. HAHAHA!

So last night I went to watch the Brunei Cup, and man it was really good. Like really really good. I've never gone for the Sultan Cup or anything major (besides school basketball games, which can't be compared to obviously) so I was really :D:D sakai I guess. I went with my brother, and he's like telling me all these basketball terms and techniques yada yada and I'm like there just nodding my head. First match was between Darwin and Korea and the Koreans won. I can't really explain what happened but it was a good match, nonetheless.

Reds are Koreans and otherwise, the Darwin team

I met Sophia there too!

Actually she just called because she knew I was there, then she brought cookies yay! I love cookies. Well that was my night- my parents were off to Miri because my grandmother was having a minor eye operation but according to mum she's all better now. I slept for like 10 hours, huhuhohohoho English tomorrow but I get to sleep in! HEHE

someone: How do you save a life?
Yvonne: I dunno man ask the fray!

AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

This is Carrie's attempt to be cooler than me. LIZARDS WHERE GOT GREY COLORED ONE? Actually that's the only thing I can say about the lizard hahahaha :(

Our eyes are on you

I spent a while thinking about how to get rid of the blog name/description thing because it just looked ugly since I couldn't think of anything nice to write up. Then I noticed that you could replace them with pictures, so, tada! I thought this one looked really cool yet cute :P I love these type of pictures but I can't seem to remember where it's from.

Statistics paper was pretty alright but I don't think it's enough to get my expected grade :\ tougher papers are yet to come though, and Friday's coming up pretty soon too. It's a very dark and cold day today (sounds like I'm in UK or something- plus I'm not a big fan of wet days) and it's always these type of weather that makes me stay indoors under a warm table lampstand and listen to music - as if I don't do enough of that. Cinnamon tea from Starbucks would do really nice now.

OK gotta run- might be heading to watch the Brunei Cup with the big (bad) brother later tonight.

What's the secret to success?

The Word of God - the catalyst of transformation.

Man, I'm getting really hungry now. I'm craving for something sweet. This ANDREW bah, keeps talking about man since he just came back from Singapore (oh how I miss you). I actually thought he meant taufufa when he said yongtaufu, so in my head I was like thinking yar, what's so special about it? I want to eat bakuteh too.. and rojak.. My hunger pangs are not gonna magically disappear on its own if I keep talking about food at this time. It's 2 minutes to 2300 and 9 hours to my Statistics paper. I have been playing Sims2 on my phone since I don't know what time, so I should go now.

Mm, statistics!

Rum-tala-tum! Sorry for the lack of updates, I've got exams started (just today!) and whoop whoop! In A Levels everything's so different; I've got so much homework I didn't really have time to actually sit my butt down and study. The assignments only stopped flooding in on the last day yesterday, before my exams started today. But it keeps us students who can be kinda lazy, on our toes! So I had my first Maths Pure Paper today, with last minute preparation in school by my friends which helped :) and as usual after my math papers, I always feel numb. I don't wanna comment on the paper just yet, I've got my Paper Six this weekend which is gonna help lots. I prefer Statistics anytime over Pure, even though the answers are rarely definite, but I guess it's just what *clicks* with me.

This morning when I woke up I suddenly had this thought. I wonder, why is it that sometimes, even after people have set their mind to do something, there are times where it just doesn't work out? I mean, I know some people have good intentions and good hearts, they do want to move on and change their lives but sometimes it's really hard for them to keep focus. I can relate to that. I remembered Daniel, and what made the difference between him, his friends and all the other soldiers when they had to bow before the king whenever he passed by, was that he purposed in his heart not to defile his God. That takes guts, and I've come to realize, that not everyone is cut out for this kinda commitment. Not everyone is a Daniel, and it takes courage, faithfulness and a mind that's set on the right things; things above. Some are learning, some are not even there yet. Slowly, daily, it gets you there I guess.

It's just like Krystal Meyers' song The Way To Begin: I've seen a million smiles, living in denial, I don't wanna live like that, where nothing's real. I hate how it is to feel frustrated, irritated, disconnected from it all. I'm breaking, and I'm aching for something beautiful. There's just so many people out there who feel like this and they have to repeatedly go through a cycle of life and death, pain and sorrow, over and over again. It's like a rollercoaster; you're on a high then you're down low (too slow!) hahahaha. Well, we have a great GOD! who's just more to ready enough to help us in our time of need. I used to think that it was just really impossible for people so filthy and hypocritical to change their ways and be accepted by God, but no, that's the lie of the enemy. As long as you're repentant! And you choose to turn back from your ways (oh and it's not easy trust me!) Question is, are we ready to help ourselves? And stop depending on people? I'm still struggling with this, but I believe that letting go of the things that hinder you, is a great step that brings you along the way. A long, but worth-it way. Thanks to my friends who are not ashamed of the gospel, and who believe in speaking up, and sometimes slapping people into reality is necessary: metaphorically or literally, whichever you like (sometimes we need both).

Which reminds me, I've got my November English AS papers to sit for after these exams. I kinda regret not taking Maths now, because after the LONGEST time of doing math, I enjoyed myself doing it in the hall today -_- I guess I'll wait until next June to sit for it. Woah, four subjects (inclusive of GP which I must take) that's like almost 10 papers?! Wowwee no joke man!

Psalm 73:2&28- But as for me, my feet came close to stumbling, my steps had almost slipped.. But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge.

Exam fever! I find it pretty cool that I don't have to be in school on the days where I don't have papers :P On the other hand, a few of my friends are leaving in between those dates and like lots of other stuff happening and events in the beginning of September so that's not really cool :( but still ok! :)

Oh man. Felt like something sharp did a backflip in my tummy :S

man I LOVE this picture! hahahahaha

oh yum!

I'm going out soon and I just had the most awesomest bowl of corn soup. With a cracked soft boiled egg inside. Kudos to the maid, who's been in such a good mood lately and has cooked something so wonderful for my tummy to lie in loverly satisfaction. :D

Ok, it was really good alright! You don't knock what you don't know, 'til you've tried it!

My room now smells heavily of Christian Dior Addict 2 while Angel is like sleeping on my bed. She misses my room, I can sense it. She's always loved my bed and if I don't wake her up like soon she's really not going to wake up until sunrise tomorrow.

18 more days!

ZAPPP!

Okay I just took a look at my tagboard and WOAH it feels great to know you're not typing to yourself! Since there are SO many tags, Imma just reply them one-by-one at one shot! (k that didn't make much sense did it?)

L- Yes I did put up the pictures. Those are really old man, let's take more soon okay! :D Maybe with our Krispy Kremes* if they really do exist here!
alex- HEY! You must be having a blast, man! Traveling so much, it must be crazy. EAT alot okay so when I see you again you can tell me of all the great places to eat :P food is like all we talk about!
weeli- Sure! So funny to see you blogging :P
vonne- haha you weirdo. Happy 14 days. ;)
Chris- HAHAHAHA CHRIS OMG YOU'RE JUST PLAIN MEAN!
joshlaplap- Yeah man! Jumping pictures again please? When do we go out? Let's catch the Simpsons! I'm very sure you've watched it before but since you sat with us for Transformers the 3rd time...
Joel- hey, leaving soon right? Have a great time, aight. :D
mel- Man you slap me so painful man.
sabby- Haha the tudung is growing on me. ;p
Ron- random = good right? hey, I never see you around at all..

That's about it- sorry the replies are a little out of place, 'cause I'm really on the edge of my seat
because Daniel's out at Huaho Tanjung Bunut to check out if there really is a Krispy Kremes store there. Sounds really impossible? We'll just have to find out, then.

I did the weird Simpsonize thing a while ago. It really looks funny on me. Ling's one looks like the asian version of Miss. Krobopple (sp?) while Angel's looks like she's going to the gym.

Told you it's just really peculiar!

I've got a whole lot of pictures to add up too; the Talentine on Saturday was just really awesome. A few of my friends came too. I thought they did a brilliant job with SexyBack- hands down even though we didn't win it for obvious reasons from the Jasper group. They were great too, something really different. Too bad I've got no pictures/videos on that.

HAHA Melvin's face looks really omgineedtotakeashite here.

Tyler was feeling kinda sick that night, but he was still a great sport to pose for a picture.

She was really pimpin' that night!

Kids now and phones. tsk tsk!

Melissa was my fellow whoregirlfriend that night ;) inside joke, ya'll.

Yeah. I guess tables are the real 'in' thing now. ;p

YOUR FACE! HAHAHAHA.

A normal picture, contrary to our previous ones.

With Diana! She's got like nice flowing hair here.

Nostril flares!

Right now all I'm thinking about is the food I'm going to indulge in Singapore at the end of this year (hopefully). I recently got this new baby and it's turned from so many colors.. Green, blue and now it's purple! Today I just saw raindrops falling on the wallpaper. It's starting to freak me out!

Oh, and more pictures from Chris and Yvonne please!

Sidenote: Daniel just told me didn't see any donuts. :( Seriously, I am not going to rest until I found out that I see those yummers in front of me eyes and in my mouth. AND THAT'S IT!

because nothing's worth losing, especially the chance to make it right
