mashin' 'tayters...

Yo there! Hahahaha I don't know why but I really feel like blogging tonight. I'm waiting for the potatoes to boil up so I can peel 'em and mash 'em MUAHAHA! :D Our cellgroup is having a beach & barbeque outing tomorrow where we're gonna have super yummy stuff! Aren't ya'll just jealous? Yeah, Joyce certainly pampers her girls well. ;)

It's been an interesting week. It's the last one before all us students who have something to do (I'm talking to you bummers who're just doing nothing and waiting for uni :P) and suddenly everyone's just beginning to realize that school is round the corner and we've still got our unfinished assignments and for those in my school, we've got our 2nd assessment tests coming up a week after school starts. Wow! This year is halfway through, and it'll be coming to a close soon. That's just super fast! And there's the bunch of people who are heading for Sydney, Australia... Hillsongs conference! Totally awesome! :D the new album will be out then, too!

My mom just left for Singapore yesterday. She didn't know my holidays were 2 weeks, so therefore yeah... I couldn't make it. All's good though. If I did go, I'd miss an amazing service which we had at Acts today! I'll talk about that later. Anyway, about three/four in the afternoon I text-messaged her yesterday on how was her flight etc and she said she lost her luggage! Okay, truthfully I didn't really get shocked or reacted in any sort of way when she told me that. It was just like "Hmm okay" and I was thinking to myself, it's Singapore Airlines! They're sure gonna be able to track the person down. I mean, they're professional and all that jazz, right?

Well my mind was thinking this way, but something in my heart was telling me not to take things for granted. It was for the best, I believe, so I text-messaged my cellgroup leader and asked her to pray with me that all will be alright, 'cause the one bag that was left at the conveyor belt looked just like my mom's, but it was a different brand. So it couldn't have been a theft- it must've been an innocent mistake the other party had made. So I told my mom not to worry and just chill with her friends. She called me later that night and told me the airlines had still not yet contacted her, her luggage was still missing. She sounded okay, my mom's like that: she never reveals how she really feels as a shield to always show that she's tough and able. Cool huh? hahaha but in the afternoon, she texted me telling me that she found her stuff! WOO YEAH! I was really happy for her. I believe nothing was stolen either! Thank goodness for wholesome, honest people indeed! I told her that I'd be praying for her, and praise God, He answered our prayers.

RIGHT back to the service today! It was funfunfantastic! While giving her exhortation on tithes and offerings, Diana said something that really hit me- "We give to please God." Sounds really simple, doesn't it? It is, really. Like what Ling said, she was on a roll! Haha and on to the message, it was really cool because it felt like it tied a knot with what I was going through and yeah, talking about being wholly hearted, wholly obedient and wholly faithful. What Joyce said during cellgroup was true- it's easy to do the first 2 parts, but it's not always easy to be faithful. It's always easier to give up. Like what Pst. Phil Pringle from CCC Australia once said, "It takes no choice to go to fear. If you want weeds in your garden, do nothing. It takes no effort to grow weeds in your brain and in your emotions. But it takes great discipline to grow great tress." smack right at the target, huh? Great stuff.. and there was definitely something deposited today.. Sowing and reaping really is something..

*checking on the potatoes*

ok they're super hard right now. this is gonna be a while...

"If you don't love what you do, start to love what you do or else change what you're doing until you're doing what you love. If you're not having fun in life something's wrong. You're meant to love the Lord, which means you have fun with God."
